Thoughts from Pastor Sam

Renewing the Flame

I know we are probably all exhausted at the end of this stressful and busy year.  As I look back over the past year it was difficult for many reasons some of which we all share.  There were struggles with health, finance, relationships, bad decisions, spiritual attacks and physical threats etc.  The list goes on and on.  We could dwell on these things and be depressed or we could look back at the blessings we experienced this last year.  For me personally and for our family this has been a year of great blessing.  In June our daughter Tirzah got to come home for the summer. Because we were all together as a family we got to go on a family vacation for a week into several different states.  This is something I’ve always wanted but never had the time or the finances to do, but in 2015 in God’s perfect time, it all came together.  Also this last year God confirmed some promises to Heather and I, that he had given us over 20 years ago regarding ministry and His plan for us.  So as I look back at 2015 I am very grateful that the Lord has brought us through another year and that He is faithful to fulfill His promises.  I know that we can trust Him as we go into this New Year and that whatever He has planned for us is good and that it will bring Him glory as we surrender to Him.

28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

As we begin this New Year, let us ask God to renew the flame of our faith and trust in Him and to give us the desire and courage to obey Him.
May you have a blessed new year!

Shalom
Pastor Sam

New Sermon Series

New Sermon Series: As we go into this new year I feel led to begin a new series on Sunday mornings on the book of Romans. I am excited about this series since this letter to the church in Rome is so foundational to our faith as Christians. Please pray that the Lord gives us understanding of His word as we go through this spiritually rich book of the Bible.
