The Four “I will” Statements

In Exodus 6:6-7 God makes four "I will" statements to the nation of Israel which are as follows;  I will bring you from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will free you from their bondage, I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and I will take you as My people and I will be your God.
As I contemplated these statements in preparation to celebrate Passover this year I was excited to once again see the work of Jesus Christ the Messiah clearly outlined in these statements.
First, just as God delivered Israel from carrying the burdens of the Egyptians so too we, as believers have been delivered from our burdens of sin and shame.
Second, just as God freed His people from bondage in Egypt so Jesus frees us from the bondage to sin, death and the devil.
Third, just as God redeemed the people of Israel with an “outstretched arm” so also Jesus stretched out His arms(on the cross) to redeem us.  The Father also stretched out His arm to pour wrath that we deserved for our sin upon His only Son.
Fourth, as God claimed Israel for His own special people so also everyone who trusts in the atoning work of Jesus Christ is included as God’s own special people.
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10 (NKJV)

There will be a catered lunch, music, and a raffle with a number of prizes. This event is open to all women so bring your friends and family. Don't miss this very enjoyable event.

Yard Sale - June 8-9: The yard sale is only 2 months away!  We'll need lots of donations of all kinds (in good shape though) for the sale.  If you are scarce on storage space Beverly Ellefson has volunteered her garage for anyone to store their items for the yard sale. There still also be a need for volunteers the week prior to the sale to help sort, organize and price items. Also, we will need people to help the days of the sale to assist folks and cashier.  If you have questions or would like to store items at Beverly's home, call her at 877-3532.
Women's Tuesday Bible Study: For the last study until Fall, the ladies will meet April 10 and begin a study in "Leading a Joy-Filled Life - Jesus Always Series". They meet at 9:30 AM in the Prayer Room off
the Sanctuary. All women are invited. Eileen Lesher is leading the study.
Women's Ministry Monthly Meeting will be May 8 at 5:30 PM in the Prayer Room off

Vacation Bible School

VBS will soon be here. We look forward to bringing these children to Christ Jesus just as He said:

"But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."  Luke 18:16 NIV

Every year children have received Jesus as their Savior. It's an awesome experience to share our Lord with these kids. We still have many positions open.   We'll have our 2nd meeting on April15 from 12:30 till 2pm. Please be in prayer as this cannot happen without our volunteers. Again we'll have a lunch as our thank you for attending. If you cannot volunteer we hope you will pray for us. My contact number is 877-3532.  Thank you. May the Lord Jesus bless you.

From their latest Newsletter: "Ten years ago we set out to church-plant in SE Asia and help our co-workers with their educational needs. The result was church-based homeschool learning centers under the ministry of international churches. This model has worked amazingly well!  Now, great commission workers from several organizations are benefiting from Rocklin Learning Center in Kuala Lumpur. My organization has asked me to consider becoming the International Education Developer for SE Asia and other regions.  Great commission workers are asking for Learning Centers in other locations and other countries. Please pray with us as we explore this expansion of our church-planting and education ministries. We will be in the USA this summer to share first-hand God is dong in Malaysia. Please let us know if you would like us to share with your church or small group."

Food Pantry

Our food pantry is such a blessing to the individuals and families of our community. Our Pantry staff also receives a blessing in serving.
The first quarter of the year we served food to 245 people!
We are blest by our resources as well.  On the first Saturday of the month we can go to Chico to pick up food from the Contra Costa/Solano Counties Food Bank for minimal cost. On the second Saturday we are able to pick up food from a food bank in Oroville.  The Lungs pick up bread, sometimes produce or other food items, from Gleaners on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Additionally, we participate in the " A Simple Gesture" program whereby every 6 weeks about 64 green bags of various shelf items are collected and delivered to us.
We have a dedicated staff of 10 people working, some weekly, some on a monthly basis.  You can help by; donating food or money, by participating in the "Simple Gesture" program, or by helping on Wednesdays when we have a need for additional workers.
Our pantry hours are the 2nd through the last Wednesday of each month from 3:30 - 5:00 PM.  This information can also be found on the church website

S.A.T. Testing: Next week (Mon-Thurs) April 9-12, Cornerstone School will be doing our annual S.A.T. testing from 8:30 - 11:45 AM.  It is important that the testing rooms are undisturbed. Signs are posted on the doors when testing is going on each day. We are asking that for those 3 hours anyone visiting the office or school to please be aware of the testing and careful not to disturb those rooms even by talking loudly to people in the hallway.  Thank you so much from the students, teachers, and parents!

Dear Church Family:
